Theory courses Aram Academy: Fundamentals for International Project Management
Our program:
AAC-100 Scope Management
This "Scope Management & Cost Fundamentals" training course focuses on setting up and controlling the project scope. You'll learn to work with Project Breakdown Structure (PBS), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and translate them into clear work packages. Practical insights into linking scope items to work packages, quantities and hours, and measuring progress with the Rule of Credit provide a grip on planning and costs. You are also introduced to cost management and setting up a CBS.
E-learning: €25, excluding VAT
AAC-200 Project Planning
This Project Planning course provides an in-depth theoretical foundation in planning projects. You will be introduced to essential concepts, methods and processes such as creating, modifying and monitoring schedules. The course covers the roles, tasks and competencies of the project planner and focuses on determining activities, milestones, lead times and dependencies. Analyzing critical paths and applying reporting techniques, such as Gantt Charts and Look Ahead reports, are also covered in detail.
E-learning: €25, excluding VAT
AAC-300 Resource Planning
In the Resource Planning course, you will learn how to efficiently deploy and manage resources within projects. You will discover how to apply capacity planning, allocate resources, distribute tasks and prevent peak workloads. Resource Driven planning, deployment, availability analysis and prioritization are also covered in detail. You will learn to define roles and resources, define working hours and maximum deployment, and how to intelligently allocate resources by activity. You become familiar with reports such as histograms, s-curves and tables and work with relevant definitions and formulas.
E-learning: €25, excluding VAT
AAC-400 Risk Management
In the Risk Management course you will dive into the basics of risk management for projects. You will discover what exactly risk management is, why it is so important and what tasks and skills you need as a risk manager. You will learn step by step how to recognize and analyze risks, for example by determining Thresholds, working with Matrices and categorizing risks for Dashboards. Techniques such as Monte Carlo analysis and Weather Modeling are also covered, as is working with Risk Factors for Price Change. You will gain an understanding of reporting methods such as Distribution Charts, Tornado and Scatter charts. This course is the theoretical preparation for the Risk Management using Oracle Primavera Cloud course.
E-learning: €25, excluding VAT
AAC-500 Cost Control
In this 'Cost Control' course you get a clear introduction to managing costs within projects. You will discover exactly what cost control entails, which techniques and analyses you can apply, and why this knowledge is indispensable for you as a project professional. You will get to grips with the role, tasks and competencies of a cost controller, and learn how to put processes such as data collection, analysis and consulting to practical use. Practical topics such as budgeting, Earned Value management, CPI & SPI and reporting via tables and S-curves are all covered in detail. Ideal if you want to get a better grip on the costs of your projects.
E-learning: €25, excluding VAT
RIS-100 RISMAN Risk Management
In Aram Academy's RISMAN Risk Management course, you will learn how to work with RISMAN, the Dutch standard for risk management. RISMAN offers a structured method for identifying, analyzing, and managing risks in projects. You will discover how to systematically map, prioritize, and monitor risks so that your project goals remain achievable. You will also receive practical tools for drawing up a risk dossier and performing qualitative and quantitative analyses. This course is ideal if you want to gain more control over uncertainties and make your projects more predictable and manageable.
Classroom-based: €822 excluding VAT

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of Aram Academy's theory courses?
The courses provide a solid, internationally recognized foundation in project management and related disciplines such as scope management, planning, resource management, risk management, and cost control. They combine theory with practical tools, ensuring that your knowledge is immediately applicable.
Who are these courses suitable for?
Which international standards are covered?
The courses are aligned with international standards such as PMBOK, NEC Contracts, DCMA, and the 14 PCMA points, allowing you to learn globally recognized methodologies.
How are the courses offered?
There are four learning formats:
Classroom-based (face-to-face), Online via Microsoft Teams (live, interactive), Online e-learning (self-study, flexible), Blended learning (combination of online theory and classroom-based practice).
What is the difference between e-learning and classroom training?
How much time should I set aside for a theory course?
What will I learn in the Scope Management (AAC-100) course?
You will learn how to set up a Project Breakdown Structure (PBS), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), link them to work packages, and measure progress using the Rule of Credit. You will also be introduced to cost management.
What is the main difference between RIS-100 and AAC-400?
RIS-100 (RISMAN Risk Management) focuses on the Dutch RISMAN standard and offers a structured method for identifying, analyzing, and managing risks. It is particularly suitable for projects in the Netherlands or organizations that use RISMAN as their standard. AAC-400 (Risk Management) covers international methodologies and advanced techniques such as Monte Carlo analysis, weather modeling, risk factors for price changes, and dashboards. This course prepares you to work with Oracle Primavera Cloud.
What is the difference between AAC-200 Project Planning and AAC-300 Resource Planning?
AAC-200 Project Planning focuses on drawing up a logical and feasible schedule: activities, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths. The goal is to gain control over time and sequence. AAC-300 Resource Planning is about the efficient use of resources: capacity planning, resource allocation, preventing peak loads, and reports such as histograms and S-curves. The goal is to gain control over availability and deployability.
